Intern's Corner File Download Instructions

In the Intern's Corner, there are six types of files available for you to download:

Executable Files (.exe)
When you click on a link that is an executable file, you will automatically be asked to save the .exe file to your computer's hard drive. Select a drive and folder for the file to be saved to and click Save. Once you have saved the executable file, you will need to extract the individual file(s) that you need to access from it. Using Windows Explorer, open the executable file by double-clicking on it. A WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box will open and you need to select the Run WinZip button, which will open up a WinZip file. Select the file(s) that you would like to extract, click Extract and choose the folder and drive to which you want the file(s) extracted. Once you have completed this, click Extract again, and the file(s) will be saved to the folder you selected.

PowerPoint Presentation Files (.pps)
If you are using a Netscape browser and click on a PowerPoint Presentation file (.pps), you will be given the option to either open the file from the location or save it to disk. If you choose to open the file from the location, you will be launched directly into the PowerPoint presentation slide show. If you would like to save the file or print it, you will need to choose the Save it to Disk option, and when you save it to disk, change the filename extension to .ppt.

If you are using an Internet Explorer browser and click on a PowerPoint Presentation file (.pps), the file will automatically open up within the browser window. If you would like to save or print the file, using the Standard Toolbar click File, click Save As, and save it to your hard drive changing the filename extension to .ppt.

Word, Access, Excel and Text Files (.doc, .mdb, .xls, .txt)
If you are using a Netscape browser and click on a Word, Access, Excel or Text file (.doc, .mdb, .xls, .txt), you will be given the option to either open the file from the location or save it to disk. If you choose to open the file from the location, the file will automatically be launched from the appropriate application (i.e. a Word file will be opened in Microsoft Word). If you choose to save it to disk, you will either have to start the appropriate application and open the file from that application or double-click on the file in Windows Explorer.

If you are using an Internet Explorer browser and click on a Word, Access, Excel or Text file, the file will automatically open up within the browser window. If you would like to save or print the file, using the Standard Toolbar click File, click Save As, and save it to your hard drive.
